Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an anarchist to participate?
Anarcho Rodentia is a leftist community that espouses and practices anarchist and anti-authoritarian principles where ever possible within legal (especially USA law) and technical (especially Second Life and Discord) bounds.
First and foremost, participants must be 18+ and consent to the points of unity.
Factions or philosophies we may not tolerate include:
- Tankies, Stalinists, and Maoists,
- Western conservative/right-wing party members and Trumpists,
- anarcho-capitalists,
- fascists and Nazis,
- white supremacists and other racists,
- TERFs, homophobes, and transphobes
Otherwise, test the waters and try to get along.
Is this a role-playing community?
Yes and No. While role-playing is a common and welcome activity in the Anarcho Rodentia Autonomous Zone, it's not our sole focus. We also spend time socializing, organizing, and discussing how our community can work together to make positive changes online, in Second Life, and in the real world.
Can I live here?
Yes! Read the Housing Bylaws and inquire in the Discord server or SL Anarcho Rodentia group chat.
Where do people hang out?
It varies! Watch the Second Life group chat for notifications about impromptu events, or check the map to see where people are clustered. Major events often take place at the four corners stage, but a few locations tend to attract small groups and visitors.
We’re mostly harmless. If you see a gathering in a public facing space like a street corner or shop, feel free to say hi! Or just lurk, we won’t stop you.
What’s this about “breadfellows”? Or a “conquest of bread”?
We are referencing Pëtr Kropotkin’s Conquest of Bread.
Help, I’m being griefed!
First, if you are being verbally harassed or bullied, or otherwise witnessing a harmful violation of Second Life’s terms and standards, consider filing an abuse report. The more witnesses who file a complete report, the better. See Linden Lab’s documentation on when and how to do so, and for tips on handling abuse in Second Life more generally.
Bring these incidents to the attention of members of the Community Wellness committee via the Anarcho Rodentia group chat in Second Life, or use any of the emergency phones in the community.
